About Brendan

Hello, I’m Brendan, a trauma-informed therapist in Brisbane, supporting a range of clients, including adults, teenagers, couples, people with disabilities, and people of diverse cultural backgrounds, sexualities and gender identities.

I also have extensive experience working with the Deaf community, and I am fluent in Auslan, allowing me to provide accessible and culturally responsive support without needing an interpreter.

A safe, collaborative approach

I understand how difficult it can be to find the “right fit” when you are looking for a new therapist. I also went on my own journey to find support with healing from my traumatic experiences growing up in a religious cult. Nothing really helped until I found a therapist who had done significant personal work, and was able to create a safe space for me to be emotionally vulnerable and begin healing the trauma held in my body.

After 12 years experience in clinical practice and completing 200+ hours of my own personal work, I know how important it is to provide my clients with safety, attunement and authenticity in building a therapeutic relationship. I take a collaborative, paced and non-pathologising approach, and support clients with healing the underlying attachment patterns and unresolved trauma that contribute to nervous system dysregulation and emotional distress.

Areas I support clients with

  • Trauma and stress-related conditions (PTSD, CPTSD, religious trauma, adjustment disorder)
  • Dissociative experiences (DP/DR, DID)
  • Mood and anxiety-related issues (depression, bipolar, anxiety, panic)
  • Emotion regulation and relational difficulties (BPD, attachment trauma)
  • Somatic symptoms (chronic pain and chronic illness)
  • Addiction and compulsive behaviours
  • Neurodivergence and disability support
